India (MNN) — The greatest challenge for a woman in Asia today is surviving a normal lifespan. From before birth and until death, a burden of oppression follows her through all the stages of her life, threatening her very existence.
Gospel for Asia (GFA) has created a documentary film, Veil of Tears, which tells the untold story of millions of women in India who are culturally persecuted for no other reason than the fact that they are women. Even though the country has suffered centuries of oppression, there are some reaching out and trying to change the culture towards women.
Veil of Tears shows women that have withstood a lifetime of adversity from their culture. The documentary looks through the eyes of oppressed women as they reveal their personal stories of persecution, rejection, abandonment, tragedy, and even triumph. Grammy-Award Nominated Christian Recording Artist Natalie Grant lends her dynamic voice to the project as the Narrator.
GFA’s mission is to share the Good News of Jesus with those in Asia who have never heard his name. Veil of Tears shows the truth of the darkness in our world, but also highlights the hope being given to millions of women each day through the work and ministry of GFA.
The documentary will be released on March 28th in theaters throughout the United States. Proceeds of this film will be donated to GFA’s continual efforts to change lives on a social, educational, health, and spiritual level. Tickets can be purchased online at VeilofTearsMovie.com.
Pray for the brave women missionaries as they go out into a world that is hostile to them and their message. They desire to reach out to these desperate women with the love of Christ.
