South Sudan (MNN) — Sometimes conflicts oversea feel like they’re too big and distant to do anything about. That’s not necessarily true, especially in the South Sudan conflict.
World Mission provides an insider’s view of the situation in Sudan, telling how you can help.
Their national partner in South Sudan was already risking his life by participating in the “Treasure” ministry when war broke out. His wife’s life was threatened. They were not deterred: spreading the Gospel was worth more than their lives.
The violence since then has not shifted their focus or their determination. Unfortunately, however, their efforts are halted. That includes their discipleship training and door-to-door evangelism.
At this point, the main focus is on food for the displaced–physical food but more importantly, Gospel nourishment.
Their partner asks for more Treasures to be sent so that these hopeless people would receive the hope of the Word. Specifically, Treasures in the Dinka, Bari, and Arabic languages are needed.
World Mission’s partner views his work in Sudan as a privilege: the sacrifice and danger are an opportunity to serve the hurting and devastated.
Please be in prayer for peace and for a cease fire in South Sudan. Pray that believers would be able to endure the trials occurring there. Ask that God would open the ears of many lost people. To help with this work, click here.
