YWCA of San Diego County

Since 1907, the YWCA of San Diego County has worked to improve our community by increasing the status of women, girls and families, and advancing racial justice. The YWCA has tackled such problems as homelessness, domestic violence, child care needs, poverty, fair housing and civil rights. Our programs and services continue to be guided by a common vision: peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. We operate a 30-day safe house program for women and their children who need immediate shelter from domestic violence. The YWCA has the only shelter in San Diego County with a fully certified school on site. We also manage Becky’s House, a transitional housing program that offers a variety of services to survivors of domestic violence and their children.
