Vietnam Children’s Fund

The purpose of the Vietnam Children’s Fund (VCF) is to remember the families and children lost in Vietnam’s many long wars. The goal of the fund is to close the past and look to the future by building schools. The mission is to create a living memorial – a network of elementary schools throughout Vietnam. VCF hopes to build a school in each of Vietnam’s provinces and create enough classroom space to teach 58,000 children each year. VCF generally builds eight-classroom schools, with desks, chairs, a teacher’s room and a small library. A facility of this kind serves approximately 300 students. To date, VCF has funded 29 schools and one day care center.
