United Way of the Midlands, South Carolina

Founded through the leadership of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce in 1925, the United Way of the Midlands is donors, partners and volunteers discovering and responding to the crucial needs of our community – then finding resources to address those needs and following up to make sure the work gets done. The United Way agency “family” currently includes more than 70 partner organizations. United Way agency partners provide services in Calhoun, Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg and Richland counties in four targeted care areas: building strong families, individuals and children; promoting health and recovery; securing food, shelter, safety and transportation; and creating quality education, job preparation and life skills.
