On October 15, 1990, the Somerset Hills Community Chest merged with United Way of Somerset Valley, the Warren Township Committee Fund and the Watchung Borough Community Chest to form the Somerset County United Way. The United Way of Somerset County has 54 affiliated agencies and funds 94 health and human service programs that improve the quality of life for people who live or work in Somerset County. In addition, United Way of Somerset Valley raises funds and effectively invests them, develops volunteer resources and builds community collaboratives and partnerships. The United Way of Somerset County advances general community understanding of agencies in health, welfare and human service fields.
