Founded in 1922, United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County (UWMTC) has invested resources where they are needed most, in local programs that have the greatest impact. United Way provides a network of care for kids, families, seniors, people in crisis and those with health problems. In addition to funding services of dozens of partner agencies and providing grants to other local human service organizations, UWMTC is working hard to create long-term change in five specific areas. Those areas are quality, affordable child care; child abuse and neglect; a system of care for elders; emergency needs; and obesity.
