Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank

Since 1981, the Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank has been securing and distributing millions of pounds of donated food annually for the hungry or those at risk of hunger. A network of hundreds of member agencies such as churches, soup kitchens, shelters, children’s centers and others come to the Food Bank to select food and products they can use to help those in need. The member agencies distribute the food free of charge directly to the disadvantaged. Food is donated by manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, USDA and others. We provide food for an estimated 298,975 different people annually. Weekly 89,098 different people are assisted.
