Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina works to reduce hunger and malnutrition in northwest North Carolina. Working together with many generous donors and volunteers, each year we help to feed thousands of hungry people and others in need across eighteen counties, from Boone to Burlington. More than nine million pounds of food, much of which might otherwise have gone to waste, is collected each year from local grocery stores, a community garden, food companies, regional and national donors and community food drives. Programs served include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, low-income day cares, mobile meal programs for seniors and battered women’s shelters.
