Rose Brooks

In 1978, a concerned group of Kansas Citians saw an unfortunate and rarely discussed problem in the community. This group met a caring philanthropist named Rose Brooks. Rose was hardworking and dedicated to serving those less fortunate than she. Founded in 1979, after the passing of Rose Brooks, The Rose Brooks Center has been working to break the cycle of domestic violence so that individuals and families can live free of abuse. Today, Rose Brooks Center is celebrating its 25th year of service in the community and has evolved into a new state-of-the-art facility, accommodating up to 75 women and children in one location. At Rose Brooks Center, not only can women find emergency shelter, but they can also find the services necessary to rebuild their lives.
