The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, founded in 1980, helps the charitable community effectively feed people in need. The Food Bank is a private organization that acts as a central clearinghouse through which the food industry and community may donate food and other goods. These donations are then distributed to 500 charitable feeding programs in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties. We distribute food to nonprofit agencies who directly feed the hungry, including: children’s programs, mobile meal programs, senior citizen centers, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, homeless shelters, drug and alcohol treatment centers and emergency food pantries. In its last fiscal year, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma distributed 21.1 million pounds of food.
