Founded in 1979 by merging the Ramapo Animal Refuge of Oakland and the Bergen Animal Rescue of Teaneck, Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. (RBARI) is Bergen County’s only non-profit, “no-kill” shelter. RBARI provides shelter, medical services, and behavioral therapy for homeless and abandoned animals and extends every effort to secure good adoptive homes for them. Through education and dissemination the organization relieves suffering and cruelty to animals by boarding, adopting and caring for animals.
