Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant Country

Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant Country’s mission is to provide safe shelter, housing, food, clothing and basic medical care; a sanctuary to whoever is in need. The Presbyterian Night Shelter opened its doors on December 10, 1984 in the former James E. Guinn School on E. Rosedale. In 1987, the Shelter expanded to our current facility on Cypress Street and is now the largest shelter in Tarrant County. To date, the Shelter has provided more than 1.8 million nights of stay and served over 4 million meals to the homeless while remaining the first and only free homeless shelter in the area.
