Paterson Habitat for Humanity

Founded in 1984, Paterson Habitat for Humanity is the Passaic County affiliate for Habitat For Humanity. We build houses in partnership with lower income families in attempt to end poverty housing. Habitat strives to build 15 houses per year with the goal of completing the 200th by 2006. Families purchase their home from Habitat after completing the sweat equity hours (and other requirements) and paying 1% downpayment plus closing costs. The homes are sold at no profit and Habitat finances a no-profit mortgage.
