The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles was formed in 1983, when the wishes of 12 children were fulfilled. Today, over 5,000 wishes have been granted. The purpose of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to grant the wish of each child who has reached the age of 2 1/2 and is under the age of 18 who has a life-threatening medical condition, i.e., a progressive, degenerative or malignant medical condition that has placed the child’s life in jeopardy. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
