Louisiana SPCA

The Louisiana SPCA is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals and to the promotion of respect and humane care for animals. The Louisiana SPCA is committed to: providing shelter for stray, homeless and unwanted animals, promoting the adoption of animals, and seeking to reunite lost pets and their owners; promoting and supporting positions that have a positive impact on the quality of life for animals; educating the public regarding responsible pet ownership and respect for animal life; and securing basic medical services for animals in need. Chartered in 1888, we are the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, providing care and basic medical services for 11,000 homeless and unwanted animals each year.
