Long Beach Museum of Art

The Long Beach Museum of Art provides a cultural and educational resource to the community, enriching lives and promoting an understanding by bringing people together to celebrate the arts. The Museum’s prized permanent collection includes approximately 5000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, works on paper, and decorative arts objects. Particular strengths lie in 300 years of American decorative arts objects, early 20th century European art, California Modernism, and contemporary art of California, including 3000 artists’ videos. Individuals, families, students, and teachers are invited to experience the stories and ideas presented in the Museum’s permanent collection and exhibitions. Programs are designed for all ages and encourage inquiry, increased visitor enjoyment, and appreciation of art and the creative process.
