Habitat for Humanity of Wake County

Founded in 1985, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County (HfHWC) develops partnerships to build healthy, affordable homes with and for God’s people in need, promotes self-reliance through homeownership, affirms the dignity of the family, and creates sustainable communities. HfHWC is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, founded in 1976. To date we have built 265 homes in Wake County. HfHWC established a ReUse Center in 1991. The ReUse Center allows low-income families to rehabilitate their homes using new and salvaged building materials while raising enough funds to build several new Habitat homes each year. In 2005, the Center diverted more than 1,200 tons of usable building materials from the landfill.
