Greater Newark Conservancy

Greater Newark Conservancy works to improve the quality of life in urban areas through environmental revitalization, education and economic development. Our guiding principle is to encourage and highlight community empowerment, pride and self-sufficiency. The Greater Newark Conservancy teaches more than 5,000 children and trains more than 300 teachers. Our Community Greening Program has organized over 1,000 families in 84 block garden clubs to work together, green their blocks and take back their neighborhoods. Our Environmental Justice Program works with residents and other organizations to counteract toxic waste, air and water pollution, and lack of open space.
