The Friends of Schlitz Audubon Nature Center is committed to managerial and financial support of the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center promotes an appreciation, understanding and stewardship of our natural heritage through environmental education and preservation of our sanctuary. Founded in 1971, the Nature Center is located on the shores of Lake Michigan, where six miles of trails take visitors through 185 acres of unspoiled natural beauty, just fifteen minutes from downtown Milwaukee. Each year, 37,000 schoolchildren experience the magic of nature through the Center’s hands-on environmental education programs.
