The Food Bank for Monterey County, a certified America’s Second Harvest food bank, is the largest supplier of emergency food in Monterey County. We lead community efforts in the awareness and elimination of hunger in Monterey County. To accomplish this, we solicit, collect, store, and then distribute food throughout the County by several means: (1) Agency Clearinghouse, a network of approximately 110 non-profit food assistance agencies; (2) direct giving programs such as Emergency Food Assistance, Food for Children, and Senior Food Bag; and (3) Community Pantry. There is hunger in Monterey County. The challenge is great and we strive to meet it on a daily basis.
