Food Animal Concerns Trust

Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT), founded in 1982, advocates for humane and sustainable farming practices as a way to improve the safety of meat, milk and eggs. FACT’s Food Safety Program conducts careful, up-to-date research in the scientific literature on food safety problems with beef, chicken, milk and eggs, focusing on farm management issues. FACT then seeks changes in animal husbandry methods that will help reduce these problems by working with federal agencies, Congress, and the agricultural industry. FACT’s Humane Farming Program fosters welfare friendly husbandry systems that produce safe foods for consumers, and conducts research to better understand the impact of husbandry practices on animal welfare and on food safety.
