Founded as the Cincinnati Institute of Fine Arts in 1927, the mission of the Fine Arts Fund is to strengthen the arts for a greater Cincinnati through united fundraising, support services, and the responsible investment and allocation of resources. Since 1978 it has provided annual operating support to eight member organizations: the Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Arts Center, May Festival, Playhouse in the Park, and the Taft Museum of Art. A portion also goes to the Fine Arts Fund Grants Program to be distributed to small and mid-sized arts organizations in the form of operating and project support grants.
