For over 25 years, Doorways for Women and Families, formerly known as The Arlington Community Temporary Shelter, has provided a life saving continuum of care, hope and safety for thousands of women and families experiencing domestic violence and/or homelessness. Doorways offers safe shelter to abused, homeless and at-risk women and families. Doorways provides: Arlington’s only emergency and domestic violence shelters for women and families; families with a new start through a Transitional Housing Program with supportive services, including financial literacy training and parenting skills; advocacy on behalf of women and families, including serving as a resource to policy makers; and community services, including a 24-hour hotline and weekly support groups.
