Discovery Fund for Eye Research

Founded in 1970, the Discovery Fund for Eye Research promotes eye research and the translation of its results into patient care and the dissemination of information on sight conservation. We research, develop and apply vision cures for adults and children with a focus on: corneal and vision disorders, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and infants’ and children’s eye conditions. The Discovery Fund primarily supports “translational research.” This is a well thought out, synergistic mix of basic and clinical eye research in which the guiding principle is adapting recent advances in science to directly benefit patients.
