The Coulee Region Humane Society serves the people and animals of the La Crosse area in its efforts to promote the humane treatment of animals. By sheltering homeless animals, preventing animal cruelty and neglect, and educating the community, the Coulee Region Humane Society actively promotes the positive human-animal relationship and recognizes the interdependence between people, animals, and the environment. Approximately 3,500 animals actually enter our shelter, but many others receive our help as well. Our education director visits over 300 classrooms annually, teaching thousands of children about a variety of animal topics. Pet therapy volunteers and their dogs are visiting dozens of people every day.
