Child Abuse Prevention Foundation

Child Abuse Prevention Foundation (CAPF) works to break the cycle of child abuse through prevention, education, advocacy and funding. Since its formation in 1981, the CAPF and its St. Germaine Auxiliary have distributed nearly $20 million for the care of abused kids in San Diego county. However, the Foundation is best known for raising $12 million to build the A. B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center, the county’s emergency shelter for abused and neglected kids, opened in 1994. In addition to supporting the Polinsky Center, our Foundation continues to provide grants for prevention and treatment programs to help abused and at-risk children.
