Cherokee National Historical Society

The Cherokee National Historical Society operates the Cherokee Heritage Center, a museum of history with displays of artifacts and historical exhibits, and a historically accurate Cherokee Village known as Tsa-La-Gi, which depicts Cherokee culture in pre-Columbian America. Other programs include the Trail of Tears drama, a re-enactment of the movement of the Cherokee people from their home in the east to the Oklahoma Territory in the 19th century; Cherokee Heritage Arts shows, demonstrating ancient crafts, arts and culture; and education and development, generating interest in preserving the history and culture of the Cherokee people.
