Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council

Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council is one of the largest of the Boy Scout Council’s in the nation. The mission of the Council is to lead youth to lifelong values, service, and achievement. This is a great goal, and everyone benefits: our youth, our community, and our nation. The council serves 169,832 youth, representing 16 and a half counties in Southeast Texas. We have shown 24 consecutive years of membership growth. We are proud of all our scouts, but especially of our 7,227 kids in special needs scouting, and our 887 Eagle Scouts. To guide our young people, we have 31,600 volunteer adult leaders.
