The Bishop Gassis Sudan Relief Fund was established by friends of the Bishop for the purpose of assisting him in providing food, clothing, shelter, medical supplies, and the Gospel of Christ to the persecuted people of Sudan. Bishop Macram Gassis is protesting the enslavement, forced starvation and mass murder in Sudan. He is bringing help and hope to persecuted people. The Bishop provides food and shelter for an ever-growing number of orphaned children, many of whom have been redeemed from slavery. Currently they number over 1,200. He also provides psychological counseling for the formerly enslaved children. Funds are also needed to assist in rebuilding schools and churches destroyed by the Sudanese government.
