Animal Place

Animal Place is a sanctuary for abused and discarded farmed animals founded in 1989. Rescued animals and indigenous wildlife share 60 acres of forest, meadow, pasture, hills and a small lake. We rescue animals who have no place else to go. Some were abused. Others were impounded by animal control due to neglect or cruelty. Some are from traditional humane societies who were unable to find permanent homes for them. Animal Place is also a humane education center that works to promote cruelty-free lifestyles and veganism. We provide a variety of educational resources for both children and adults that teach kindness and compassion for all creatures, and implement nationwide educational programs such as our Food For Thought, ABC (About Building Compassion) and 5-H campaigns.
