May 2001

Rodney Unruh and our daughter Faith's wedding on April 14 was a special gift from God. He orchestrated details and blessed abundantly through our church and mission family's help. Another blessing was having so many friends and family from around the world. 

The week after the wedding, the long awaited new version of the donor and accounting software arrived at the SIM USA office for Harold to test.

The weekend of April 28, we moved Becky's mom to Becky's sister's in Vienna, Virginia. Praise for the safety in driving and for the time helping Mom get settled there. Pray for Becky's mom, Betty Hendricks, as she adapts to a new living situation. Pray for Jim and Faith Battle as they care for her. 

We are awed and humbled at how God is providing for our travel and outfit expenses. Already 1/3 of our estimated needs has come in. Praise God for what He has provided and pray that He will provide the rest. (Donations to these one-time expenses can be sent to SIM USA at the address at the bottom of the first page and should be designated for "Jongeward Ministry Account (030825-050)."

Pray for us in the coming weeks as we expect by God's grace to be involved in the following:

May 19-21: visit our support team in Florida. 
Until July 5: pack, store, and/or dispose of our possessions here and sell Mom's house. 
July 6 - 28: visit our support team in Arkansas, Colorado, California and Oregon. 
July 29 - September 12: visit our support team in Yakima, Washington and the rest of the state. Sell our van. 
September 13: fly back to Charlotte.
September 21: fly to Ethiopia. Pray that God will be preparing us spiritually, socially, mentally, and physically for the task He has for us there.
