Dear Friend, Thank you so much for your love and prayers
expressed through a card or letter this Christmas season! It is good to hear how
God is working in your life. December 19th Rodney Unruh asked our daughter Faith, to be his wife. Rodney is the son of SIM missionaries here in Charlotte. We first knew his parents in Ethiopia before either Faith or Rodney was born. Rodney and Faith have known each other for 6 years and been good friends for 4 years. They started dating this fall after our Canada trip and the rest is history! The wedding is set for April 14, 2001. We praise the Lord for a godly son-in-law to be! |

| December 21 Giovanni, Rachel, Alex and Miguel arrived in Charlotte for an extended visit. They did bring an uninvited guest: a bad cough and sore throat. One of Becky’s favorite memories of Christmas day is all of us sitting around the table after breakfast. We read the Christmas story and talked about what touched our hearts from the story. Then we had a time of prayer. One of our prayer requests was that Miguel would feel like eating. He had been sick and not feeling well. So, after we finished praying we sang some songs and Grandma Becky cried as we all saw Miguel eat some breakfast! | |

December 26, Giovanni and Rachel went to Urbana and we got to take care of the wee ones. December 28, we woke up in the morning to hear Becky’s Mom coughing. This really scared Becky since she knew that Mom has only two thirds of one lung. So she realized right away that she could not give her the care she needed. Becky called her sister to see if she could meet us halfway to bring Mom up to Virginia. We were out of the house in about one and half-hour and met Becky’s sister at the North Carolina border within half hour of arriving. The next day Becky’s sister had her to the Emergency room and Mom was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. Mom had very good care for the week in the hospital and is now home with Becky’s sister and doing much better. We praise the Lord for His guidance. As it turned out Harold came down with “the cold” as well. We praise the Lord that even though everyone in the house came down with “the cold” that Becky has stayed well, even up to this point! January 2-7 was full of all kinds of activities as we were all together entertaining friends, playing with kids, cooking, talking about wedding plans, and shopping for a bride’s dress. The Lord made those tasks easy and fun as well! I do hope you sense with us God’s hand in our lives and give HIM the glory and praise! We also praise the Lord for 100% support this past year. Thank you for praying with us as we stir our creative juices for Faith and Rodney’s wedding. It will be outside at SIM headquarters with the reception inside. We are praying that God will help us with the decorations, as it could be the time for a lot of flowering trees. Please pray that it won’t rain. Thank you again for praying for us. In Christ’s love, Harold & Becky Jongeward |
