Dear Praying Friend,

Psalm 37 is still a favorite of ours! Verse 3 says, "Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness." We have been doing a lot of "feeding on His faithfulness" as we have seen His work in our lives. Let us share some specifics.

Yeminashu, Becky, and Chufamo the head cook
Shortly after Becky started working in the guesthouse, one of the two guesthouse office staff came with a confession. He had been "borrowing" money from the safe. He intended to pay it back, but his debt got way beyond his ability to repay. We had to let him go. Becky and the other office worker, Yeminashu, shouldered the extra work. Then Becky discovered that Yeminashu had not taken last year's vacation. So Yeminashu just finished taking two and a half weeks of vacation. The other staff helped with the load but there were still times when the guesthouse was so full Becky did not have a clue where she would put the next unexpected guest. As she trusted in the Lord, God provided ideas and space as needed. Praise Him.

One of Harold's responsibilities is HQ Station Manager. As Station Manager, he is Becky's immediate supervisor. Praise God for the ability He gave Harold to make Excel spreadsheets for handling charges and guesthouse bookings. We enjoyed each other's company as we worked on these projects together.
Recently, Harold has been wrestling with the distribution of second semester scholarships to five schools. Many matters needed straightening out and-worst of all-it appeared like there was not enough money to go around. That would mean some students having to drop out of school. Harold spent last Saturday going over the figures. To our amazement and delight he discovered two scholarship funds with money that he had overlooked. Praise God for His faithful provision of enough money to cover scholarships for this school year.

Please pray for us that we will grow in His grace and maturity as we continue to face situations way beyond our abilities.

Woyita Woza is Harold's counterpart in the Kale Heywet (Word of Life) Church office. In the next few months, Woyita and Harold will be reviewing and redoing the KHC/SIM scholarship policy. Pray that they will be guided by God's wisdom in coming up with a policy that truly encourages the church to take ownership in training their present and future leaders without overburdening the churches financially.
Thank you so much for your part in furthering God's kingdom in Ethiopia.

In His service,

Harold & Becky Jongeward
